OK here's the deal to everyone wondering why her brother can and she can not.
Yes most of us grew up in a the modern era where everything a man can do a woman can to.
But sadly for most our parents that is not the case. Especially in Asian and Latin American cultures. Men are often granted rights and privileges simply for being men. The idea of equality between sexes has not hit them yet or if it has they right it off as plain crazy.
In a lot of cultures the woman is still believed to be weak and helpless there for needs to be protected, and need to stick what the traditional conservative role the woman plays in their culture (cooking, cleaning, taking care of the kids etc.)
So basically what I'm saying is she has fallen victim to oldest reason as to why her brother can do things and she can not. The double standard.
What sucks is as much as she tries to argue her point and no matter the amount of logic she uses, chances are her parents are pretty dead set on the fact that she will not be allowed to do certain things.
